Here's a free idea for a budding web site builder.

Wouldn't it be neat to see a topographic map of New Zealand, but with house prices rather than mountains and valleys.

Auckland would have some pretty high mountains, some smaller ones elsewhere.

And you could run all the monthly maps in a sequence , getting yourself a movie.

Then you could easily see the movements in prices relative to each other, in a very natural intuitive way.

(Basically get to see what's inside my head)

Probably give the whole topography a water texture, to hammer home the fluidity of it all.

You just need some retired people, interested in housing, to enter the data.

If you really get smart, you can import the data directly from the stats and have the thing self adjusting.

And , since were going with the whole water theme, can you have little shark attack warnings blip up every time there is a mortgagee sale?

(You need to show risk ).

Come to think of it, you could sell this whole data visualization service to government departments, to help them visualize any sort of location based data.
