Does Insurance cover Borer

Our staircase is broken because of borer under the carpet. We did not realise until we went through it. The entire staircase is infected and needs to come out. Will insurance cover this?

Thanks all. Am new on the site and didn’t see the responses as they were in spam.
We have changed four steps but there is still borer in some. We painted with diesel and now praying.

Are the stairs inside as diesel smells and there are sprays that don't have the smell.
