You are focusing on freedom of choice and are totally blind to medicine.
you are in turn abandoning freedom and also blind to medicine that only requires 80% for the herd immunity.

I personally consider human rights sacrosanct.

So you exercise your human right and a baby dies as a result of that.
      Is that a bit selfish?

I notice a few news items recently from the USA (the land of the free) where the authorities are coming down quite hard on anti-vaxxers as a result of the measles outbreak.
It appears the right to live (for those who can't be vaccinated) is more important than the right to refuse a vaccine.
A pleasant surprise to see some intelligence being demonstrated.

Why are stupid people allowed contact with babies?

Casale said she knew a receptionist at a north Auckland daycare who was completely unvaccinated.
"She handles babies from 3 weeks old until 5 years old, and is virtually guaranteed to pass on measles to multiple infants should she become infected," she said.

Babies relied entirely on a cocoon of protection provided by the immunity of their carers until they were old enough for the vaccine, Casale said.
"Infants are one of the most seriously affected by this disease with the real possibility of permanent disability and even death."
There should be a major shake-up with anti-vaxxers being banned from public places and having contact with others.

I'm tending to a sign around their necks saying "I'm a stupid anti-vaxxer".
                Less confusion that way.

Why stop there? How about . . .

                  . . . a sign around their necks saying "I'm a stupid anti-PI socialist?"

                    That's a great idea.
I'll get 50 made up and send them to the next Labour Party annual conference - one for each attendee.

Are anti-vaxxers happy to take the polio vaccine?

                              • I am personally vaccinated but I defend the right of others to make their own decision.

I think in general anti vaxxers dont "hate" vaccines and their noble objective but some are concerned at the effect on their children's health and distrust bureaucrats who have their own agenda and pharmaceutical company driven by profit,

Not all vaccines are equal and some have dubious ethical associations. I also have concerns at the increasing numbers and cocktail affect of these injections. There are genuine side affects and risks that have to be disclosed and aren't.

as above the herd immunity doesn't require 100% uptake and allows for a minority that choose i(n good conscience) not to vaccinate (and or cant be considered for one).

What concerns me more is this ideological fervour to force people against their will. This is just hysteria and frankly this is the ''stupid part of this debate.
