    Default limes, the're back.

Those limes are back on Auckland streets!

Was it all a summer craze,
the nostalgia of youth, pulling baby boomers into hospital,
with injuries, brushes off by their twelve year old selves,
but not so easily by their 50 year old, fatty,
    brittle, slow reaction, present incarnations.
Will those limes be gone in a few months?
Will there be more high profile hospital visits?
    We wait in eager anticipation.

The upside for the Council is too great to ignore. Ridiculous number of users, and thus less of them clogging up the roads etc. So it's a trade off and while there's the teething period like all new tech, I believe they're here to stay as a means of transport.

    cheers,

People should wear helmets on those things.

At least you didn't say make helmets compulsory.
Guy at work fell off a scooter - broke ribs, arm, assorted neck and shoulder injuries along with worries about his spine.
Helmet wouldn't have helped at all.

Lime e-scooters have been taken off the streets in Upper Hutt after after 16 were found broken on Thursday.
The residents of Upper Hutt decided enough is enough and started to destroy the scooters around the town.
Lime has now withdrawn them from Upper Hutt.

One resident it sounded like in the article. Doesn't really mean anything.

I understand the lime scooters have not returned.
Perfect outcome as I see it.
