    Default The Lies Continue

These standards will help ensure rental homes in New Zealand are warm and dry
No they won't. They will ensure that the rental homes are capable [only] of being warm and dry.

and will improve the health of tenants by improving the standard of housing.
If the capability to keep rental homes warm and dry is not utilised, again, no they won't.

The standards will also decrease maintenance costs for landlords
Oh? How? If the capability to keep rental homes warm and dry is not utilised by tenants, again, no they won't.

Ms Sykes needs to get a grasp on the real world, rather than the fantasyland of Dhil Twitford, et al.

I have just rung Tenancy Services and asked when the statement will be available, so that we can build relevant systems to produce said statement, and after checking with a senior advisor the only response was "nearer the time". So good luck with complying with that one then...

Now that people in "emergency accommodation" are paying rent - and are hence tenants.
Are the motels all up to the new minimum healthy homes standard?
Have the tenants received the compulsory insulation statement and insurance details?

Default Lies, Damned Lies & Political Lies

But, but, but, you need to remember that the lie starts with the title of the legislation.

It is not about healthy homes, at all. Even if the legislation's figures and calculations are asinine, it's all about 'healthy' residential rental accommodation.

If you're a socialist / labour type supporter, Taxcindarella and Dhil Twitford et al don't care a stuff if the home you own and live in is below the healthy homes standards. Such socialist / labour type supporters could live in a mice-infested, draft-afflicted, uninsulated flea pit, for all they care.
