A number of companies have closed office or gone offshore from Dunners. But the population hit 130k which is always a good sign. What are the main employers outside the Uni now?
Did the offshore (gas I think) energy concept go any further?
Im looking at cashflow properties. I like a lot of large buildings already converted or ripe for conversion, large rooms with ensuites, some with singular double bedroom units as well etc. Ive done the math and its possible to get 8-10% gross depending on your buying leverage. The more wealthy end of the student spectrum. There are some horrid leaky windy moldy rentals and for a bit more money Im sure student appreciate double glazing and heat.
My only concern is, Dunedins long term future? I like to think its rosey, I personally think its the nicest of the 2 big cities in the SI.
Surely the Uni isnt going down in our life time?
