Poor workmanship . I was advised by 2 inspectors and one registered builder . He close the building when was wet. Now some panels are start twisting on connections. He refuse to report his negligence work. Need to pay another builder and to go.on the court to get money back. He never advice me that I was his second job after he got a license. I was chared for lunch breaks for him and his workers what end up for me thousands of dollars of the lunch time what I was not advised. He never give me a conntact even was work worth 100.000 and warranty he promise 15 years was not honored after 6 months. He should be striped of his license to not do the damage even more to another customers. He is on big project in Takapuna now ...

Well I have read and reread your post and here's my thoughts Smith west on:
1. Caveat Emptor (buyer beware). Why did you give the job to a tradesperson without a statement of works and terms (contract)?
2. What due diligence (reference checking) did you do on the tradesperson before you engaged them to do your job?
3. Did you get the warrantee in writing?
4. There is recourse - you can go to the small claims tribunal (I think)
5. You may be 'closing the gate after the horse has bolted' (google this adage if you don't know what it means) - but you could get legal advice on what you can do
