Property manager and landlords fined $34,000 for bond and insulation breaches

A Wanganui property management company has been ordered to pay more than $34,000 in costs and damages for 116 breaches of the Residential Tenancies Act. The Tenancy Tribunal found The Rent Centre Limited failed to lodge tenancy bonds and provide compliant insulation statements to its tenants, as required under the act, for more than four years.

The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment's tenancy compliance and investigations team national manager Steve Watson said the scale and number of breaches committed by The Rent Centre was the most concerning thing about this case.
Still keenly awaiting The Ministry of Bungling & Inappropriate Expenditure's tenancy compliance and investigations team national manager Steve Watson to pursue and publicly comment on the scale and number of RTA breaches committed by recidivist tenants as being a most concerning thing.

Chance would be a fine thing. Steve & Co are only there to harass LLs; not to investigate any breaches of the RTA by tenants. That observed . . .

Anyone know of a LL reporting an RTA breach to The Ministry of Bungling & Inappropriate Expenditure's Tenancy Compliance & Investigations crowd and getting a favourable response?
