Default Approx costs to move house from front to back of section

    Hi all

I'm interested in understanding the approximate costs involved to moving a 110m2 timber/weatherboard house 15m from the front to the rear of the section.

Appreciate any case studies where you've done this and what the costs involved were.

    Regards, A

Thanks Alfa. I'm interested in the costs based on no buildings in the way, flat section, including piles, including services. Approx how much based on this scenario?

    Cheers!

Still too many unknowns. Got geotech? how many piles? how deep? how far to move? which services?

Geotech report - $2000, surveyor - $2500, draughtsman - $1800. Get those done then take the info to a house lifting company and get a cost from them which will include timber piles.
Otherwise it's like how long is a piece of string.....

I would talk to a housing moving company first, as they can probably give you a basic idea.

Seriously, we get enquiries like this all the time. People don't like to spend money to get an accurate cost. A house moving company can't do anything without the 3 professional services I suggested.
We know if the person has arranged a survey of the site, a geotech and engaged a draughtsman that they are serious and not just a tyre kicker. Time is money and travelling all around Auckland to consult for free is costly and yes it has to be done sometimes.
Moving a house to the back of a section is a piece of cake for us but we would still have engage at least 2 of those professionals and we know what we are doing. Just saying, someone here might have moved a house to the rear of a site in Sth Akld but it requires a consent and Council need all that information before issuing one.
What sort of foundation is the current house sitting on? Will it be easy to move off? If its a ring foundation and timber piles then you have to allow to get the ring foundation and timber piles out of the ground. Maybe $40k for that alone?

Sorry I had no idea you had a house moving company.

I don't try to get anything for free. But as I suggested going to a house moving company would get the steps are ..... that you have outlined, and they might suggest you talk to x, y and z?

Or some might say, if you pay us $6,500 we can organise them all for you?
