Every time I read one of Mike's opinion pieces,
My internal moral compass sets off a warning buzzer in my mind.
A feel a deep sense that something wrong and possibly slightly evil has been put into the world.
Mike's latest piece is entitled:
"Mike Hosking: It's a fact of life - those who have the power make the rules
9 Aug"
It talks about landlords being able to ask renters deeply personal and detailed financial questions.
And somehow connects that with drug abuse and government support programmes.
It's a strange chimera of ideas.
His basic conclusion seems to be that "Might is right."
Anyone with the least amount of education would be able to identify this core theme and know the problems with it.
Is he an advocate of social Darwinism?
Does his wife know that she is "Mikes property" under this set of rules?
Are his views the result of not really understanding the limits and applications of Victorian science?
Maybe its a math problem? .. does he think that two wrongs make a right?
because it doesn't, you cant add situations like math numbers, two wrongs just make a double wrong.
here's the link.
