the supercity
not super efficient as promised
Infratil says the Government's plan to merge Auckland's councils into one super city is of great interest. It says the changes should result in the council's roles being undertaken more effectively and efficiently.
no super savings as promised
At the last elections Mayor Goff promised he would make efficiency gains in Auckland Council of between 3 to 6 per cent saving $72 million a year.
just super-sized lies
and super-charged rate riseshave you defeated them?

Well, the only thing you should be surprised at is that you're surprised.
The way to tell if a politician is lying is if their lips are moving.
That never changes.
I wonder if a political lies tax would raise more money?
And from the right people, too!

Its strange how there hasn't been a lot of mention about the two levies they are bringing in to replace the transport levy that is now coming off our rates bill.
One is for the environment e.g kauri dieback and the other is Water quality improvements. The second one is not a flat charge is going to be charged on your property value.
And fyi, the new rates should be up on the website around Friday.

I don't care about this tax.
What I do care about is that they are taking a bunch of crap from the wealthier parts of Auckland and dumping it into Manukau Harbour. After partially treating it, if it's not raining. If it's raining then straight in it goes!
So you know, living over the Manukau Harbour way, I find that to be extraordinary.Squadly dinky do!

What bothers me is that all councils' increasingly cannot live within their means.
Why are they always looking for creative ways to screw Ratepayers?
What are they not looking to reduce costs and overheads by staying out of matters-which-cost and which are really nothing to do with councils' core activities?
