I swear this little buggar is smarter than average.
It has demolished my putty job on the hole it used to get into my kitchen twice and escaped (I took it out of the trap and held it in a container to let a cat finish it off) last time we caught it and obvuiously learned it's lesson because it would never go into the trap again, not even when I gaffa taped it to the before mentioned hole.
Finally, one of my mother's cats caught it in her place. It just didn't finish it off, but was willing to part with it.
Now, for another mouse story.
I heard the mouse trap spring so I went and had a look. It had 2 mice in it and it was late at night so i thought they could gouge themselves on the bait and I would deal with them in the morning.
Come the morning and they are both gone, having clearly colluded to escape.
Lesson learned.
