    lol.
Tenants hate PMs because the PMs are strict on the rules of renting. So tenants rate PMs low.
Tenants love Mum-and-Dad landlords as they can get away with sob stories about lack of money to pay the rent. Tenants rate private landlords highly.

Well that is a truly robust piece of research. Not.

    For example -

+ Tenants waiting for a response for repairs - what does that actually mean? Could be no response to a text within the hour, or months to fix something major, or anything in between.
+ Property does not have good heating or insulation - what does that actually mean? .
+ Mould is a problem - even the Tenancy Services website indicates there are significant responsibilities on tenants. Hard to believe a quarter of tenants have mould caused by dwelling issues that are the sole responsibility of the landlord.
+ Landlords turning up unannounced - apparently a breach of tenancy legislation. Who knew?
+ Pests - 34% had pest problems. Like what?

If the media report is accurate it is largely meaningless as a basis to call for regulatory changes to a whole industry.

Sounds to me that better tenant education is required. Maybe use some of the interest on bond money on education.

And Consumer is, it is said, lobbying for better security of tenure for tenants. Sounds fine. Until the implications are drilled into.
