Yeah, that's what you'd have to do.

If emergency light batteries fail before 12 months, they can be replaced under warranty with the manufacturer so it's good practice to note which batteries were replaced and when.

Just had a product presentation from Ecoglo - they're based in Christchurch. http://www.ecoglo.com/

They have a hybrid sign that runs on LED power normally. when the power goes out, the sign will glow using photoluminescent - hence no batteries!

Having no wires or batteries products allow for significant savings, not only because of the initial capital outlay, but also the huge reduction to a virtual nil ongoing maintenance cost. As well as reducing electricity usage, Ecoglo products incorporate recycled aluminium, are non toxic, non radioactive and extremely cost effective. That being said, our clients feel the greatest benefit of our products is the durability - they will last the life of the facility and can then be readily recycled, reducing our global footprint.

We have also recently introduced Hybrid and Architectural signs to complete our Emergency Lighting Signage solutions, meaning we have the perfect, sustainable emergency lighting solution, regardless of available light sources.

Are these for sale or still coming?

EDIT: They are for sale, wonder why I've never heard of them? They seem to be really cheap!

And better than that, they seem to not need any maintenance - except for the powered ones I guess.
