Two years ago we laid a brand new 100% wool heavy duty domestic carpet throughout. The two tenants have been the only occupiers since then and have just left.
They had the carpets cleaned when they left but it still looks awful with extensive and varied staining. The company that cleaned the carpet said they used stain removal products to do their best and consider that the remaining stains are permanent.
The state of the carpet is not a good look and it lowers the tone, instead of the upmarket clean impression laying a new carpet was aimed at. It looks excessively more than two years' reasonable wear and tear. Prospective new tenants looked dubious when I said the carpet was two years' old.
The three week's bond will not buy a new carpet.
We'd really appreciate your advice please on what is reasonable and how to proceed!
Thanks in advance!
