    Sounds good to me.

Other options for workers will arise, has always been the case. Less so for low skilled, again always been so. Jobs have been increasing year on year in New Zealand and this country is one of the easiest in the world to start a business.

Under the current government having babies and living in income related rental accommodation is a viable option.

Further to Mr Robertson inviting stories from unhappy Wellington renters. He has posted many letters on the window of his electorate office and Whaleoil has put up some for info and discussion.

One concerning aspect is that some of the letters on public display name property managers (on the window, not on WO which has redacted names). Guessing they might not be too happy about that.

Some of the letters demonstrate no understanding of the real world.

Look, in the real world, the good hard-working people in this life get nearly free places to stay in. And the evil rich people never own any of their houses. They have to spend their days up in their castles counting their money because everyone hates them.

And there are free marshmallows for everyone
    Squadly dinky do!

Only some? One moans about an annual rent review; another wishes for it.

Residences which are mouldy, etc., should be reported to the pro-Tenants Advocacy Team at the Ministry of Bungling and Inappropriate Expenditure.

Those who have been socked with an extortionist rent increase should do the same.

There must be a long queue at the Reality Departure Lounge.

rents all over the city are on the rise. $170/wk in thorndon doesn't sound out of line with other locations. The cost of insurance, rates etc are rising fast, add to that the increased costs that have been legislated and the increased risks forced by TT interpretation of the Tenancies act - increased costs will be passed on to the end user and increased risks require increased returns.

I have a Spark cellphone account.
My tablet is linked to this account under the option "Data Only Sharing".

Recently I received notice from Spark that the cost of this option is increasing from $5.99 per moth to $9.99 per month "after a recent review" (no other reason given).

That represents a 66.7% increase - but I don't see questions in parliament or people screeching on Facebook about this massive increase by Spark.

Why rents - and only rents?

    Absolutely!

After all, the faecesbook generation would rather sleep in their car than be cut off from the rest of the dumbphone twits of this digital world.
