fraudster SETS up backpackers in rental house

LL ends tenancy when finds out

fraudster now taking LL to TT for $18k for loss of quiet enjoyment

    taunts LL with

"you're going to have a criminal record now, and thanks for paying for my next holiday'."

thought she was renting her house to Bentinck, his partner and their children.

He told her property manager, Yvonne Parker, he was a law researcher and traffic management consultant earning nearly $170,000 a year.

Morgan was shocked when she found Bentinck,
was housing up to 28 people in the home.
She immediately ended the tenancy and kicked the tenants out.

    - Wayne Jury Eaglesome has more than two-dozen known aliases, including Richard Mountjoy, Ari Ben Yitzhak and Bernhardt Augustus Longwater.

    - Eaglesome, as Alexander De Villiers, was jailed for five years in 2006 for sexually violating and indecently assaulting an 18-year-old backpacker and indecently assaulting another youth.

While in prison, he was reprimanded for impersonating a Corrections officer

    - Eaglesome was jailed for three years in 2012 for various fraud offences, and served a jail sentence in 2003 for similar offending, including impersonating a priest named Father Anthony Garibaldi.

    - A Parole Board report from an August 2013 hearing said a psychologist found Eaglesome was at medium to high risk of sexual reoffending and at high risk of general reoffending, particularly fraud.

looks like this sociopath/oxygen thief should be back behind bars

Hopefully we will see the tribunal result.
Could end up a lesson to follow process no matter how repugnent the person or situation.

Seems Jo didn't do very good background checks - might need a PM to help her.

"He told her property manager, Yvonne Parker...". Not a good advert for Yvonne.

Do we have 'clean hands' / bad faith here, legally or natural justice? If so, would the TT take it into account when providing the wherewithal for the applicant's holiday?

          good result

good luck getting the money owed

A conman has been ordered to pay his former landlord about $2500 after converting a rental property into a backpackers hosting up to 28 people.

"The landlord was induced to enter the agreement by Mr B's fraudulent misrepresentation and was entitled to and did cancel the agreement on that ground."

The tribunal said it was an offence for Morgan to take possession of the house without an order from the tribunal.
However, the act did not provide any sanction.
