I want to pay my son to do a bit of reno work on a property.
He's at Uni but does have skills (painting and the like).
He's worth $20/hr.
Now if I pay him $20/hr can I claim the expense in the company?
I don't want to deduct PAYE but is it legal to employ him as a 'contractor' and expect him to declare the income himself?
I expect him to declare the income (I don't want it 'under the counter').
Are there any traps in this sort or arrangement I need to be aware of, or anything special I have to do because he is my son?
