  • RE-Roofing Cost

    Hi

We have a 60m2 unit which requires re-roofing. Any ideas how much does it cost? It is a rental what sort of roof material would you use?
Any recommendations for roofers in Wellington area?

    Cheers

I used Wellington Roofing Company, guy was called Roy Krebs from memory. $17K for a 2 storey on the uni end in Brooklyn, maybe 150sqm of roof space incl scaffold etc as it was on 2 levels (built into the bank, one level at the back, two at front). Got a few quotes at the time and there were two price bands, that was the lower end but not the cheapest, however he came with a recommendation. Did a great job. That was a couple of years ago so prob a bit more now but not much. Plus yours is half the size. You can do a labour only deal with a roofer if you want but that's a bit more hands on.

Scheduling is hard because of weather, they do set a date then you go into a queue and they get to you when they get to you.

Going through old emails here are his contacts:

    Home 976 4779
    Mobile 0274 424 779

Other folks I got quotes for were just going to subcontract it to someone and I was more confident going with a specialist. I sorted it all from overseas and managed access via my PM - who Roy communicated directly with once I placed the order. Billed me in arrears.

    Hope that helps.

              Hi Kanwal,

We also have a 60m2 unit with iron tiles which needs re-roofing. First quote we got was for $14,999 to replace with same materials and the other closer to $10,000 to replace with corrugated iron sheets.

We haven't selected one yet. This is for a unit in Auckland so wouldn't be able to help you with roofing companies in Wellington.

              Regards,

              Mal

We put a coloursteel roof (77m2) on our new garage about 6 months ago. Including scaffolding and safety net, $10,000. We are in Whangaparaoa.

We used Advance Roofing in Glendene. 09 8185001. We organised our own scaffolding and safety nets but next time would just let the roofie do it as they do that as well. They were quick and did a great job and came recommended to us by our builder.
