No code of compliance on rental home

  • there is no requirement for a building to be code compliant,
    there is no offense for work to be unapproved( the offense is to the person carrying out the work at the time if there is need for consent)

    • Thanks John. I recently got a letter re some work done at a rental and they put in the letter that it would be hard to sell the property without the CoC. I wonder if they can say that esp. if a building doesn't legally require it.

        • Yes sorry it was the Council (I'll find the letter and the exact wording). As it happens I've just followed up and we now have the CoC.\
