Hi all,
Has anyone had any success with disputing fire service call out charges outside of the 21 days allowed?
I took over management in late Feb and there were several issues with the fire protection system which resulted in false alarms shortly before I started and then 2 more just after I took over. My predecessor hadn't thought to have an investigation done after 5 false alarms last year (which I only found out after receiving the fire service statement) so I ordered one done urgently. They found the issues and we haven't had a false alarm since.
I left it with my fire protection contractor to challenge the false alarm charges (my mistake) and now they've still not been waived.
I believe we should qualify for waiver on those false alarms due to the work done in preventing any future ones but they're taking issue with the 21 days. Clearly I should have personally challenged the charges immediately but you live and learn.
