Decking posts

Hi, I'm going to be building a deck in Auckland.

The deck will be slightly less one meter high. How deep into the ground do the posts need to be? And what spacing is needed for the posts to hold the deck?

a post in each corner and one in the middle is fine, they can just sit on the ground ,no need to dig holes

This is Auckland with wet clay soggy ground for part of the year and then shrinking clay soil for the rest. Concrete the posts in to 450 deep holes. Follow the link Aston referred to or get someone to build it for you.
