Just wondering if anyone has been presented with this option by their insurance coy to settle a claim.
Tower are obligated to replace a phone - thats all fine, but the model is no longer available, so their replacement was a huawei - completely different brand, operating system etc. I said no, and asked for payment into my bank account. This is where we are now at loggerheads.
They are saying they will only offer a store credit with Noel Leeming because under the terms and conditions where they say "We will arrange for the repair, replacement or payment for the loss, once your claim has been accepted", payment only applies when they will not repair or replace, but since I am turning down the huawei, I have to accept a store credit as a settlement.
This seems very odd to me, and I thought I would ask around to see if this is normal not being a regular claimer.
