I'm trying to weigh up two options that cost the same - any recommendations?

We live in Dunedin - cold climate

1. 6.1R - between ceiling joists - (beams are not covered).
2. 4.1R - between ceiling joists and 3.2R blanket over ceiling joists and sitting on top of the 4.1R.

Option 2. Without a doubt - Its a no brainer. Helps prevent thermal bridging. Performance will be closer to R - 8.0
