Hi guys,
I have installed a new vanity in the same place and position (but slightly smaller by a few cms!) than the previous vanity - no alterations were made to the "sanitary plumbing" as the Building Act calls it - pipes and waste in the same position as the previous one.
I am just curious, do I need a licensed plumber now, since the Act has been updated to "hook up" the sanitary plumbing to the new vanity / taps? It's all the same fittings and same position, minus a slightly longer extension to the waste to hook up the existing "s" trap?
I'm just vague about this, since the updated Act seems to hint at the whole "sanitary plumbing" thing requiring a plumber to screw up pipes and waste? Or is this more for major projects where plumbing is changed? As otherwise, I'd assume that even replacing taps yourself means you need to get a plumber in (and we all know the excessive costs eaten up by long lunch breaks, smoking and parking the vehicle on the road and bringing in one tool at a time!).
If it is required, surely I can get a plumber in to "sign off" on the work / check it?
Any help would be much appreciated!
