Equates to 60% being no better than a robot. You're a self-made successful person. Most of those don't fit in the group learning system regardless where in a 1hr class the teacher has about 90 seconds per student if you think about it.

My parents are teachers so I have a bit of a thin skin about critics of that profession. However I'll happily put my oar in if we're talking about council staff so maybe I should just chill out.

While you are capable of learning that way, the same could not be said for everybody. Teaching will never be completely done away with. Not only are there learners who are reliant on the dynamicity of an actual teacher, there's the socialisation aspect of schools that can't be overstated, especially given the poor job many parents are now making of it.

What gets missed when you have robot teachers or, more particularly, remote learning is the people interaction.
I have found in, my professional learning, that the group environment works best.
It is the question someone else asks about something you thought you knew that challenges you and others and brings everyone up higher.
Remote learning seems to leave people with their own view unchallanged.

Everyone knows that all the worlds problems are solved in the smoko room - maybe a virtual smoko room?

McDuck, you clearly have no idea of what actually goes on in an actual classroom. Modern teachers are not automatons that drone info at a class for them to absorb. (That's what uni lecturers do.)
Teaching is a very dynamic process with constant feedback loops and adjusting for learner progress. Every second of a lesson, teachers are assessing their students' uptake, misapprehensions, readiness for more challenging concepts and adjusting their teaching or the course of the lesson.
If you only want to teach facts that students can regurgitate, sure, a computer can do that. But that's not what teaching is. Try having a values-challenging discussion on the ethics of genetic engineering of human embryos, or examining the possible motivations of a character's actions, with a computer screen.
Try helping a kid with learning difficulties understand that division is really repeated subtraction, with a computer program.

Oh hey, I'm with you.
I've had nothing but the best teachers, and have been in hundreds of classrooms at every type of school.
From the rich white /Chinese north shore ones, to the islander, runny nose kids south auckland ones.
I've learnt math from a man who strapped first and asked questions later,and biology from a man who made me cut open a frog and put my finger down the heart valve of a cow to feel the tissue strength.

But all of those things you talk about, especially subtle. feedback, are so very nearly perfected in software, and the ironic thing is that it's being funded by smartphone research.
