Predictions for 2017

America isn't doing so bad. But I'd argue it's in spite of Trump. It's been a disaster of a presidency so far, and I can't see how it's going to get any more productive.

But this isn't the thread (or forum, for that matter) for that discussion.

My prediction is that Trump is in a race, he cant wait to make his mark by going to war against North Korea.

The race is whether he can find an excuse in time to do that before he is booted out.

His list of friends grows shorter and his list of enemies made grows greater by the hour.

I think you're both quite wrong. When I lived there I couldn't believe how weird they were. They love this stuff. I just look at what he is doing and the results. So far he is doing everything he said he would. And his policies were/are solid right wing pro American.

Not at all. The numbers speak for themselves. Everything is going pretty good currently. In addition to the above points illegal immigration is down to a 17 year low, unemployment lowest since 2001, US businesses getting more support, defunded the killing of babies, the list goes on and on. If you actually look at the policies and results to date, they are impeccable.
The fact that he is a psychopathic narcissist is fairly irrelevant. They play the game by different rules. They forgive flaws and laud success. He may walk away because he tires of the game but if he stays I dare say he will get in again. 4 years of his policies and the USA will be a truly global superpower once again.

The housing market was likely to "decelerate sharply" in several Asia-Pacific (Apac) markets over 2017, as sheer affordability, increased housing supply and tighter lending and regulatory standards kicked in, Ratings agency Fitch said. Australia, New Zealand and China had had the region's biggest recent price rises, but they would now experience a "pronounced and overdue slowdown."

"We expect them to record single-digit house price growth, rather than the double-digit growth experienced last year." New Zealand house prices, which grew 12.7 per cent nationally last year, were forecast to slow to 5 per cent, due to affordability limits and tighter regulation. "Measures of relative home price expensiveness have deteriorated more in New Zealand since 2010 than in any other country covered by our report," Fitch said.

The dilemma as I see it is you get a mixture of both - e.g. a Professor expresses an opinion on LGBT rights and is forced to depart because the weight of facebook opinion is against her.
