  • Anyone with "Manage My Rental"?

Manage my rental rang me last night and invited me out for a coffee. I'm with quinovic now and fairly happy. Anyone use MMR and have an experience to share?

Disregard - I had the name mixed up with another PM outfit from a different city

Have done. Yes, for any of quinovic's faults (and there really aren't many at all) the money comes in regularly.

There's a few good PM companies in AKL aye - Pedersens and Inspire are a couple. I think Pedersens maybe more North Shore focused.

        cheers,

Thanks. The rentals are in Titahi Bay.

I'm with MMR in Wellington, I think is the only place they operate. The frontman/founder Fraser is excellent (and operates here on PT) but after signing on you don't deal with him anymore. The business as a whole is just 'acceptable'. No significant issues, but they overpromise a bit, especially on communication.

As a disclaimer though, maybe my expectations are too high - I wouldn't go shout the praises of any PM I've used.

EDIT: I'm surprised they're actively recruiting customers right now. Their building has just been condemned in the earthquake, so they're all working remotely.

Hi wodger OK I had you mixed up with Manage My Place, in Auckland. Please disregard.

I actually think the Manage My Rental owner posts on PT.

I've found the Quinovic folks to be quite good in wellington also. Which office are you with? I'm good mates with the Finlays who run Lower Hutt and JVille offices.

Just re-read first post, and you've mentioned you're happy with your current PMs.

If you're happy, why would you change? I wouldn't. Leave MMR in the back of your mind for one day when you're unhappy with your current one and willing to take a risk for something that may be better.

Same with most services. I have no intention of taking happy customers from other firms. Call me when you're unhappy.

MMR rang out of the blue (not sure where they got my number, maybe I'd put it down somewhere to try and win something) and asked me out for a coffee. May as well listen.

                  I'm with quinovic in Whitby/Paremata.

Oh by all means go for a coffee. If it's with Fraser you'll enjoy the chat.

I think that's an over-simplification, because 'happy' is not easy to define, nor consistent. A tale to illustrate.

Once upon a time, I knew a teacher that worked at a Polytech. The dept she was with had a departmental secretary. The secretary's service was OK - but, because of the way in which tasks were done, the departmental teachers always felt that she was over-worked, so didn't like to ask too much of her.

Then the secretary went away on maternity leave. In less than a week with 'the temp,' the teachers could not believe the difference. Work was done faster, more efficiently and with a smile; offers of other assistance were made to the teachers (need any photocopying done?); reports were typed and on teachers' desks very smartly and the whole department almost hummed along, courtesy of the replacement.

The moral being: that department did not know what good service was, or what lack lustre service it had been getting, until there was a change.

So, while if it aint broke don't fix it is a good maxim, it does not always apply.

Excellent point Perry - though I hold to what I said, if you're happy just leave it be.

If you're always on the quest for the best, you'll never allow yourself to just be happy with what you have.

If you're at all dissatisfied with what you've got, by all means go searching. But if you're happy? Who cares if there's better out there.
