I recently bought a new Palmco oven.
It is a great oven operationally wise except their quality control leaves a bit to be desired.
One of the feet did not screw in properly and a screw was lost in the recesses of the oven while changing the jets from NG to LPG.
No big deal I thought. I will contact the shop (who supplied the stove) and get them to courier me the parts which will work out easiest for both of us.
Here is where things get really crappy.
I was sent a diagram of the stove and they insisted to know which parts I wanted. Unfortunately, I can't find this screw documented on the spare parts list. It only covers the large parts. They asked for a photo and I sent it through.
After not hearing from them for awhile I followed them up and it transpires they will not supply the spare parts until I can tell them what their (non-existent as far as I can see) spare part code is.
This is despite the very clear photo showing the screw and it's location and the fact this very screw is mentioned in the instruction manual, because 2 of them hold the bottom burner cover in place which has to be removed to swap the jets.
I have concluded they are basically just dicking me around and they have no intention of supplying the parts.
I did notice another quality issue with the oven (loose screw on the back which would not tighten) but it was minor so I overlooked it as not being worth the hassle.
Cooking wise it's a great oven but from my own experience and what I have heard from others - a pretty poor company to deal with.
Notes:
1. I would rather they have supplied the screw then I have to go into the hardware company in Palmerston North and ask for one stainless screw. I know from previous experience small stainless parts (except stuff used in dairy equipment) are in short supply in our local town.
2. They haven't even sent me the foot either.
