BFM interview ---more detail
How do you guys feel about public use of your commerical carparks after-hours?
They pay to have these 4 parks and these parks are there to assist facilitate income for the business
If other people (who are not customers ) use these parks then the business could lose customers
I feel this business is fully justified in clamping or towing away illegal parkers.

there is no after hours for residential car parks
and most of us are residential
I would say 99pc + of the comments and postings under this section are commercial property related

Apparently this rort has netted them about $70K.
There are even reports of them coning off their neighbours' parks to encourage people into those unmarked traps.
People trying to kick up a fuss are threatened with letters from lawyers who turn out to be fake.
The whole thing stinks. My blog. From personal experience.

When I saw the words honey trap mentioned, knowing that a honey trap is an attractive woman usually ( as in the Profumo affair ) or sometimes a smooth Asian man pretending to be a woman ( as in that winter Russian affair..no I have no idea how the diplomat didn't know ), I was expecting some curious twist on the well publicised parking scam. Fair go have covered this one Btw.
Oh well.
What I do know, being very familiar with the area, are these few things.
No parking there anywhere, expect to get towed without clear signage to say you can park, and still tell the person you are visiting that you are using one of their parks.
Ponsonby tractor drivers are generally of the opinion that the rules don't apply to them and that whatever trivial tasks they have to do that morning take precedence over all other laws, including the law of gravity if possible.
Any park not mercilessly policed by a shop owner will never be free of cars that have nothing to do with their buisness.
This has driven most of them into perpetual attack mode.
Towies are a unique breed of individuals, you are their food. Ha.Last edited by McDuck; 21-09-2016, 10:13 PM.
