You raise an interesting perspective - number of births per year.
During the baby booming years there were 55k - 65k births per year.
For the last ten years we have had approx the same number per year.
Our current number of births matches the boomers which suggests when the boomers die off there will be plenty of people to replace them. This is the surprising thing which no-one has taken into account.
The immigration number is the icing on the cake.
