OK - Here's my rant from a long-term forum lurker!
Received a letter from LandMass acting on behalf of a TA to provide district revaluations on commercial buildings.
The letter asks for and indicates a requirement to provide:
Physical Address, Tenant Name, Floor Area, Current Rental (exc GST), Outgoings (exc GST) Car Parks, Lease Start Lease End and ROR details for all tenants. It also requests Earthquake Strengthening status and and explanation of upgrades.
The letter specifically states that this information is "required" in full under the Rating Valuation Act.
So I read the Rating Valuation Act..
The only part of the act is under Section "45 Powers of Entry", (5)
The owner or occupier or manager of the land must answer any question put by any person authorised by subsection (1) to enter the land, and generally supply all necessary information to enable a correct valuation to be made and the valuation roll to be prepared, revised, and altered."
I have no intention of providing any of the requested information but would appreciate others opinions on the issue.
