My new tenant has been in a dispute with her previous landlord (large NZ wide PM company) over a margin on a tenant charge.
She accepts the charge (repairing a washing machine in which her hair pin caused the pump to stop) but the PM company added their standard margin (which they on charge to their owners) onto her charge.
Can they legally do this? Does it have to be noted separately on the tenancy agreement for it to be enforceable?
It seems very unfair - a case of clipping the ticket twice?
