Real estate as future investment

How about get into real estate market. I was in France. Now I settled in Toronto. I think real estate is a good investment. I was thinking of get into this field on my own risk. But I think expertise is an important factor. Involving in to such business without much knowledge is a huge risk. So I am planning to invest my money through some real estate brokers in Canada like Royal LePage Real Estate Services Ltd. What is your opinion about this?
