I am looking at purchasing a 25ha forestry with the intent on building an off the grid house on it.
There is already a cleared area that would be perfect for a building site. However, I am not quite sure of the process before applying for building consent.
This is what I believe I have to do, please tell me if it is right.
Forestry is GST registered for taxable supplies.
Have Environmental Engineer do a Preliminary Site Inspection of proposed building site.
Have Geotech Engineer do Report of building site(as it is on a hill).
With these done I believe the cleared area is now deemed a certified building site and I can make a GST adjustment on the property and pay the GST of one hectare for the site and curtilage etc.
Is this correct?
