Anecdotally a Hamilton local looking for a rental has told me they think there is an oversupply. They also said every property they've tried to buy has been bought by an investor. REA's are telling me they are getting 10 calls a day from Aucklanders wanting to buy IP's, there's an oversupply of student accommodation... Diary has taken a dive and there's talk of layoffs at Fonterra plus the reduced cash flowing through the local economy due to dairy prices. It all doesn't paint a great picture for buying an IP in Hamilton.
