I have a daughter & her family residing in Adelaide & am interested in purchasing a existing house with an intent of my daughter etc., becoming the tenants (she & hubby are keen on the idea). Earlier this year I spoke to our legal man who advised that he would not recommend investing in Aussie due to potential issues, I remain unclear of. During a recent trip it became clear to me that Kiwis are free to buy existing houses & are not required to build new. Where do I go to become more informed as to potential hidden fish hooks should I decide to make a purchase?
