  • And there will be other things.

If there is a point, it's that it's impossible to idiot-proof the world.

But by instituting 'no fault' (code for it's someone else's fault) into so many things, the socialists end up trying to do the impossible, anyway.

If people want to remove themselves from the gene pool, is that not their choice?

    • Like that idiot who climb up that water-wand thing in Wellington last week and broke it.
"There was no sign saying I couldn't do it"
      "It wasn't roped off"

        Yep.
So make cycle helmets optional and let each cyclist decide based on how he bikes and where.
Those sit-upright cyclists who meander along the waterfront don't need helmets - many overseas examples show it's not a problem.
Those serious, off-road, mountain trail competitors can wear all the safety equipment they can find - no problem with that.
It's the do-gooders who shrill for new rules (for safety reasons) to apply to everyone who are causing the dumbing down of people and removing the concept of being responsible for your own actions.
        That hurts us all.

          Hard to disagree with this.
I'd make rules for children - some need to be protected from their parents stupidity.
