  • 'Thrusting' wasterwater pipes under a road (15 meters)

    Hi there,

Does anyone have any experience 'thrusting' a pipe (wastewater, stormwater, freshwater, gas, whatever) under a road to connect to the network?

Can someone provide any cost estimates to do this? For example $x p/meter ? Or at least recommend any *good* contractors who do this type of work?

    Cheers

There's quite a number of reputable companies out there from the small operator to the larger ones contracting to the big utilities. Sorry I'm a few years out from actual hands on so my rates will only mislead. Vector use Electrix to install gas pipe etc and Watercare engineers might give you some names that they sign off. The big boys tend to be booked up months ahead. Most of the pressure stuff like gas, water & cable is pulled back after a steel reamer is guided through. Larger pipes ie waste and stormwater can be by similar means as mentioned but is often microtunnelled as line & grade is more critical. By the sounds of it council consent will be involved and again some of their engineers might recommend a no hassle operator.
