My sister owns a rental property and tenant is on fixed term until mid October. She wants to put the house on the market to sell and agent has advised tenant. Tenant is asking for a reduction in rent for the inconvenience and is worried potential buyers might check out his stuff and come back and burgle the place.
Owners are not obligated to give rent reductions, however tenant could make access difficult. What are the rules about this. Buyers can be brought through but with not less than 24hrs notice?
Can tenant refuse open homes?
