Default New Zealanders buy second hand property in OZ

    Hi there,

Just wondering whether kiwis are able to buy second hand property in Australia. Or have to build new one or buy new house there. Do not know the regulation there, so ask

Nope, as long as you have the cash and/or equities, you could buy a new or second hand property here in Oz. As you might know that the property's price will heavily depend upon its location. So, do your planning and property selection thoroughly and put importance on quality not quantity research and also be sure to invest your time on reliable prorperties websites when you do your research, such as: Domain, Mitula Australia and Realestate.

Happy hunting and Good luck mate!!

Most laws in Australia treat Kiwis almost like Australians. Almost just PR instead of Citizen. Hence no issues buying properties here.

No problem at all with either.

But from my experience I could not use equity from nz propertys with the banks there.

    big exception here is medicare

nz'ers in oz are charged medicare levies but unable to claim medicare if for example they own land in nz

oz citizens are allowed to own land anywhere and it doesn't effect their entitlement

lots of odd little wrinkles like that in the law over there that they are in no hurry to do anything about

esp. now they are having to cut entitlements to oz citizens who will want to blame their greed on others

    have you defeated them?
    your demons
