Hi,
We have a tenant who has taken out two entire hedges that helped as a facade in front of the verandah to the property, he took a chainsaw to these hedges taking it right down to the ugly stumps in the ground. His excuse: they were overgrowing to the point of obstructing the pathway. But he did not call us, he just decided on his own to take out the hedges. I think- no, I know his actions has decreased the value of the property as the front now looks absolutely atrocious.
I was so angry and gave him a piece of my mind when I checked the property, then he had the cheek to say I was being rude, wtf! I told him he should have rang, but that did not seem to register... He said he would get rid of the huge ugly godamn stumps, so anyway where do I stand in this situation? Can I kick him out? We've also had trouble with his rental arrears a few times.
