  • Resurfacing cast iron bath

I've just signed up to buy a house with a big old built-in cast iron bath with a surface that has definitely seen better days. I was wondering if there is anyone that does a resurfacing for baths in-situ?

      Hi Julian

There is a company in Auckland called Tonercote (ph (09) 5796737). They are involved in the painting/coating of baths & showers. They may have a branch in Rotorua or BOP or may be able to put you onto a contact.

There's got to be something better than tonercote or mend a bath out there for cast iron baths.

The problem I see with these paint systems is that you can't use scourers or ammonia based products on them as they ruin the surface - try tell a tenant not to use jiff, or spray and wipe.

Sorry guys but I'm looking to resurface one as well but think I'm going to need something better

            resurfacing baths

            Hi there

Also have cast iron bath and in Manawatu - surely there must be a more economical way than having to spend $550 resurfacing with mendabath and the agent for tonercote is not in service

            Ideas please
            Regards
            Grant
