I am not GST registered and looking at my fist investment property, we are looking at buying, tidying to a liveable standard then moving in quickly to carry on with the reno. To do this we will be renting out our current home (we will get more money for it, to enable us more $ for the reno) Do I need to be GST registered for this? and would there be any benefits to being GST registered even if I dont have to be? We are not looking to sell either home at any time in the forseeable future.
