Hi all,
I'm looking at buying a cross lease property for my first home. Not necessarily because i want to but more so due to my budget and what i can get for it in the area i want to live.
I understand the details around shared access, parking, common areas and making structural changes to the structure/increasing its footprint.
What limitations are there to landscaping? For example the property I'm considering has separate access and front and rear yards to the joining property. Although it already has established gardens etc if i were to buy it i wouldn't mind paving a small area and adding one or two raised vege gardens. Out of common courtesy i would let the neighbor know anyway, but generally speaking is there any legal requirements or processes to go through to cover my behind? With respect to the paving I'm looking at a total area of no more than 10 sq/m
Any pointers in regards to the above, or anything relating to what the post title implies would be appreciative.
