hi, we live in a converted calf-rearing shed on a farm/lifestyle property in rodney district, it's been getting damp, putty falling out of windows, roof leaking in places etc - we asked the landlord (who rents us the property through harcourts but does repairs himself) to fix them, and he evicted us, without giving a reason.
we are now worried about getting our bond back. we just did a search on the property with the council and our number house doesn't appear there, just the main house number for the address although there are actually four dwellings here - three of them rented out. the rates form lists the main number as being: "lifestyle - single unit"
no mention of the other dwellings. does that likely mean they are all illegal? or not listed with the council anyway, or do we need a proper land report form to find that out? and what would it mean for our bond if this isn't a registered/ legal dwelling?
cheers
Tom
