Hey all,
Looking for some advice on a rather small cupboard/wardrobe I have. It was the only place in the house not regibed, and hence scrim lined. I have ripped out, leaving just the old sarking boards (above about 1m) and vertical boards (below 1m).
I am wondering what's the best way to go forward from here in the replacement process to get the wardrobe up to scratch. One of the sarking boards is missing. We are wanting to do a relatively cheap fix, and are not wanting to make the wardrobe much smaller than what it is now so we have a couple of options(I will be doing the work myself, I have used a hammer and saw plenty, just never done any relining):
a) Rip out the sarking and chuck a couple of braces/dwangs, and regib it.
b) Screw the gib onto the sarking (easiest option, but will decrease the wardrobe size quite a bit).
c) chuck a thin board (ply or anything) over the sarking which we can seal and paint.
There is also a bit of a draft through this part of the house (wardrobe back onto the fireplace area), so would people recommend a decent builders paper to help out, oer some other solution?
