Default Eliza Maniapoto & George Edwards - Warning to Hawkes Bay landlords

This is a warning to Hawkes Bay Landlords about a prospective tenant named Eliza Maniapoto and her partner Georgev Edwards.
Due to Privacy Act requirements the information that can be posted is limited, I have just obtained a Tenancy Tribunal order for termination of Tenancy as well as rent arrears. This was the final straw. We have had enough of the stress of bad tenants and the Tenancies Act favouring the tenants, and have sold our two properties giving up being landlords.

Thanks everyone for the oh so helpfull advice throuigh the forum

When you can, post the TT application number details as the Order
should become available on the DBH website, at some stage.

Seems you've had a bad run. It happens, sometimes. Best of luck
with whatever you turn your hand to, next.

The Tenancy Application Number is 12/01345/NA. We were landlords for 7 years and we did have some very good tenants in that time. Our experience is that if a tenant's rent is coming from someone else's pocket with no effort on their part, the odds are much higher that they are less inclined to care for the property they are occupying, because it's cost them very little or nothing to be there.

I obtained the order on Wednesday 17th so it may a bit early for the order to appear on the Justice Depts web site

Here's the link to it guys.

I like the adjudicators thinking at reason number 4. Pity all adjudicators don't think that way.

Right. But there's a big difference between get-
ting an Order and getting the money, of course.

hi Guys, I just applied for tenancy tribunal last week through my PM. How long will i get results? My tenants was 4 weeks in arrears when we applied, and now is 5 week. And after getting the order from court, how to recover the money? Paul's tenants seem very bad, i am wondering how are they gonna pay Paul back?

Doing a Google search for this person and this came up here funny.

In the process of removing her from a property that we just brought cheap as the old owner has Eliza as a tenant.

He has no written agreement, no bond, one cell number, no last name, no ID, nothing!

Slowly getting all the information together now before hearing. Anyone know her parents address, PM me please.

When will some landlords learn? Do they not see the news? (got a good discount though on the house so up side for me).

A motorcycle gang in the States use to open a gang headquarters in a nice suburb and devalue the area. Buy up cheap as the residents fled and then move on. They would sell out of the neighbourhood as it went back to being nice as they had left. That was a good racket I bet.
