Thought I'd let you know I have just got my first real job (not temping) in Oz and it is property managing residential property in Karratha - I start in just over a week.
There is 100% employment up there so they make you feel wanted. First thing I did was find out the cost of accomodation. The company rents a house for $1700pw, and 3 staff members live there for $200pw each.
I get a car, phone, ipad and flown up. I will have to learn to use a modern phone & ipad and remember how to drive as I have been using public transport. I don't know what the car is for as they employ someone to do inspections. Perhaps to scope out new listings? Most landlords are investos living elsewhere.
The pay scale starts at $70,000 and rises depending on experience, but I will stop short at telling you what I will be on.
I am really excited at seeing a different part of WA and hope it is not too dodgy a town. Cyclone season is just beginning so it should be interesting, I think I only need to take summer clothes as I hear the two seasons are hot & wet (summer) and hot & dry (winter).
Now I have a real job I can look back into investing - but I am risk averse so it will be Perth, not Karratha.
