A month into the running of the new Super Ministry, the “Ministry of Business
Innovation and Employment” (MBIE), we are privileged to have representatives
from this new department who will be giving the association an update on a
number of aspects of Tenancy Services - as we knew it - and its fit into the new
Ministry. The telephone number for “Tenancy Services” hasn’t changed, neither
has their web address - so what has? We have the pleasure of having their
National Industry Liaison Advisor Troy Churton &
Central Southern Regional Manager Jim Gallen to tell us.
DBH regularly measure and report on their dispute resolution performance, a
measure that continually shows how well they’ve been doing to sort out tenancy
wrongs. The important data to us is how well they’ve been performing in the
Wellington region and importantly what the trend is.. Other data collected by
Tenancy Services is that derived from receiving tenancy bonds; see if there is
some new trends to be found in the stats for Wellington..
Lastly, the Tenancy team will be available to answer your questions on
tenancy issues - tenants or tribunal process - as submitted to the asasociation
or from the floor.
For investor landlords, this will be another must attend meeting.
